Dr. Gurbakhsh Singh studied World History, Political Science and English Literature from Punjab University Chandigarh, Philosophy at the University of Delhi, Zen Buddhism at Komazawa University, Tokyo and Shintoism at the University of Tokyo. He has extensively researched the strains of mysticism in Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and Judaism to respond to certain epistemological questions, which are central to the philosophy of language.
Currently, he is News Director for Japan’s national broadcaster NHK, at Tokyo, and is heading a research project on the life and teachings of the Buddha at International Buddhist Exchange Center, Yokohama, Japan.
